Nobody likes to have bad breath but it’s more common than we think. It’s also a problem that can affect our life and self-esteem. Nobody likes to walk around feeling they may smell bad. Bearing this in mind, I spoke to Cosmopolitan UK about what causes and what solves this problem.
Usually people think that they get bad breath only when they eat strong foods like garlic or cheese. But the truth is that bad breath can be caused by a number of things, many of them easy to solve!
There’s the cosmetic bad breath, caused by food and smoking, and this one can be easily managed. All you have to do is to brush your teeth or even pop a piece of gum, always sugar-free, of course. Dehydration can also cause temporary bad breath, so make sure to always drink plenty of water!
One of the most common causes though is bad oral hygiene. So, always make sure you brush your teeth and floss, and don’t forget the tongue needs to be cleaned as well.
Bad breath can also be a sign of some health problems, like diabetes or sinus problems. So, if you think you suffer from abnormally bad breath, make sure to have a check up done just in case!
