Last Thursday, Dr. Stela Alamão, a Dentist from São Tomé and Príncipe, came to visit us at the White Clinic®. This was not an unexpected visit, as my team and I had already met Dr. Stela at the association Mundo a Sorrir fundraising dinner (last 21st Nov) and had invited her to come over. And so she did!
A fundamental part of all the activities I engage in, places I go and congresses in which I participate, is precisely the encouragement of creating bonds and sharing experiences, knowledge and energies!
I consider myself a positive person on my vision of the world, but the truth is I also have the perception of my own space and individuality. And I know that the best work is the one that is developed as a team , combining synergies and communication! The reality of a doctor living on the other side of the world can be an eye-opener to new paths that I have not yet explored and vice versa. My experience has made me realize that connectivity and the openness to create bonds with people has more positive than negative outcomes.
Maybe if I didn’t have the opportunity to meet Dr. Stela, the lovely afternoon she spent with us would have never taken place, nor would we have had the chance to contribute with some materials to make real the dream she’s been struggling to achieve: to open the first dental clinic in São Tomé and Príncipe!
Fortunately that dream has evolved into a project outline and it is with extreme joy I see this young colleague blazing a trail in this area, that is, after all, our life!
